BPW International has a rich history of its members taking leadership roles around the world. Below is a sampling.
Dr. Lena Madesin Phillips, an American lawyer, founded International Federation of Business and Professional Women (IFBPW) also known as BPW International.

Kofi Annan, the United Nations Secretary General said, in a letter to Esther on her 100th birthday, ”For half a century, as the representative of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women at the United Nations, you actively promoted the concerns of women. Your untiring efforts influenced almost all the resolutions of the General Assembly and its subsidiary bodies which affect the status of women.”

Today, BPW International has grown to become one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in 100+ countries on five continents. NFBPWC-NYC is one of those affiliates.
BPW’s advocacy has been embedded in its United Nations work since the organization was founded 85 years ago.
